08年考研翻译试题详细分析
该试题来源于Mayo W. Hazeltine写的一篇关于“达尔文在现代科学中的地位”的评论。原文长达8686个英语词。经过命题专家的改编之后，成为了一篇经典的考研翻译文章。上面给出的是原文和试题的简单比对（上面英语句子中括号注明的是命题专家是如何改写原文，变成试题的），以及我给的一个比较合理的译文。试题难度和近几年难度保持一致。
五个句子所考查的单词和句型结构都是我们在课堂上分析过，并且在历年真题中重复过多次的。这就刚好印证了新东方一直在课堂上给大家灌输的“真题至上”的复习原则，以及我后来在刻意的研究中发现的所谓的“复习考研翻译的奥秘——完全掌握真题中的每一个单词和句型，因为考研翻译单词和句型综是不断的闪现和重复考察”。下面一一分析如下：
一、单词部分：
Compensating在95年75题考过，
advantage在90年65题中考过，
force在2000年73题考过，
detect在98年73题考过，
observation在02年62题中考过，
assert，argue，convince，believe，point out这种类型的单词，是我在所有强化班上讲过的，属于论述性文章中引用别人观点必须要用的动词，
follow这个单词在02年74题中考过其中的一个意思，但是“理解”这个意思没有考过,
abstract在03年65题考过，
reason，reasoning，reasoned，reasonable这类单词考过无数次，课堂上，我也说过无数次，
critics这个单词在95年71
